From the Founder
Twenty-five years behind the decks taught me more about branding than design school did.
I've been DJing since 1999. Founded Krazy Arabz in 2023, after twenty-five years of reading rooms first and worrying about everything else second. Nobody teaches you that skill in a design program, and I didn't learn it in one. I learned it standing behind a booth watching two hundred people decide, in real time, whether what I just played was right for that exact room at that exact moment.
That skill transfers more directly to branding than most people expect. A DJ set and a brand identity are solving the same problem from different angles: how do you hold a room's attention across an hour, or a year, without losing the thread of who you actually are in the process. Play the same energy the whole set and people leave bored. Chase every trend in the room and you've got no identity left by the end of the night, just a reaction to whoever was dancing loudest ten minutes ago. The skill is knowing when to hold the line and when the room genuinely needs something to shift, and that judgment doesn't come from a framework. It comes from having been wrong about it enough times to know the difference.
Krazy Arabz exists because Middle Eastern techno had the sound and nowhere that felt like home. Building that wasn't research. Twenty-five years in the actual culture sits behind every decision on that identity, the glitch treatment on the wordmark, the sub-brand system for different event series, all of it. Not because a brief said to reference the culture. Because I'd lived inside it long enough to know what would ring false the second it got applied on a flyer.
Design instinct and music instinct were never two separate things for me. They're the same instinct, aimed at different rooms.
